Our speed boat with 30+ swimmers took us out to a coral reef. This was the first of two stops today and even though the water wasn’t clear we were able to see a nice assortment of fish. We had 40 minutes to snorkel before we went to an island where we had two-hours for lunch and snorkeling off the beach. We spent 150 baht ($4) to rent a chair and I rented snorkel fins for $3 for our beach snorkeling. Very nice even though there were so many people. A beautiful day in sunny Phuket, Thailand.
We arrived back at our hotel in the late afternoon, in time, to shower and do some shopping. One item I needed was band-aids, otherwise known as plasters. It’s been nine days since I cut my leg, I run out of band-aids and I am still very much in need of them. This cut is deep, sore and taking a long time to heal. I’m sure the salt water is good for it since I only need two band-aids to cover the wound instead of three. Andy buys his incidentals at the local store we found down the street. I’m at the check-out stand right behind him. As I buy my plasters the cashier, who speaks very, little English says, “Baby?” “Baby?” She’s looking at Andy, she’s looking at me. Back and forth she looking and nodding her head. “Oh, yes.” “He’s my baby.” We laugh, Andy doesn’t, there must be a family resemblance.
Dinner of fried rice and Phad Thai. We walked to the open market with the hope of buying some fried dough balls to snack on but the lady didn’t make them tonight. Our loss.
Yes! Tonight, I get Andy to play cards before going to bed.
